STRONG – John Orestis, president of North Country Associates, recently presented Strong Nursing Home with Safety Awards for its employees.

The facility has worked 18 months without a lost time day due to an employee injury.

Registered nurse Paula Varney, administrator of the home, said everyone has been working hard to create a safe working environment.

Mechanical lifts, staff training and education, patient transfer aids, mandatory stretching and job task analysis are just a few of the ways the facility is able to achieve this kind of success, say administrators.
