NORWAY – Artists in all media are invited to participate in the 31st annual Norway Sidewalk Art Show July 13 along Main Street. It is part of the Norway Summer Festival.

The Sidewalk Art Show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. First, second and third place ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded, including a new Photography Award. The show also features purchase awards by individuals and businesses; last year there were 10 of these. Judges for this year’s event are Anthony Shostak, professor of art, Bates College, and Kathleen Logan, an artist from Freeport.

The Norway Summer Festival, now in its second year, is hosted by Norway Downtown Revitalization and runs from July 11 to 13. This year’s festival celebrates the 150th birthday of Norway native Mellie Dunham, one of the most famous fiddlers in the country in the 1920s. There will be musical and dance performances, dance master classes, poetry readings, children’s activities, food sales and numerous community events in addition to the Art Show.
