LEWISTON – Star Eyes, Shaman to the People (Ed Webber), presented an overview of Shamanistic healing in the Shalish tradition to the first graduating class of the Central Maine School of Massage Therapy.
Born in Maine, his ancestry is Passamaquoddy and Algonguin. Star Eyes makes his home in Auburn, but travels throughout the United States offering native sweat lodge therapies and other healing classes.
Webber was adopted by the Shalish People, located in southwestern Canada and in the northwestern United States, during the mid 1960s. He was given the name Star Eyes after his journey quest by his primary teacher and mentor, Chief Dan George.
His overview was part of a series of special presentations in the class of energy field theory, facilitated by instructor Sonja Christiansen. The class covers topics such as polarity, therapeutic touch, Reiki, focused healing and acupuncture.
