MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Sherry L. (Parmenter) Place, 48, formerly of South Dennis, Mass., died Saturday, May 3, in Lincoln County, Tenn., from injuries received in a truck accident. Her husband of 29 years, William G. Place, Sr. also died in the accident.
She was born Dec. 29, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Barney and Kay (Clark) Parmenter and was raised in Marlborough, Mass., where she lived for many years before moving to Cape Cod.
She was a graduate of Marlborough High School and worked as a sales clerk at K-Mart in Hyannis for many years, as well as several other stores on Cape Cod.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid beachgoer, who will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves two sons, William G. Place, Jr. and his wife, Francine of Clinton, Mass. and Jason M. Place of South Paris; a daughter, Stacey L. Place of Bourne, Mass.; a brother, Charles Parmenter of Texas; three sisters, Jeanne Winn of Clinton, Mass., Beverly Porter of New York and Gail Cooper of Marlborough, Mass.; a granddaughter, Shelby Ann Place of Clinton, Mass.; and many nephews and nieces.
