WATERFORD – The Woodlawn Cemetery Association reminds anyone who has not removed flowers from the cemetery on Five Kezar Road must do so by Wednesday, May 8.

Wildflower event

PARIS – There will be a wildflower celebration and plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, at McLaughlin Foundation Garden and Horticultural Center. There will be a display by New England Wild Flower Society Plant Conservation and Habitat. Lunch will be available.

Library open house

BOLSTERS MILLS – The Bolsters Mills Village Library will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10. There will be a book sale and refreshments will be served.

WEST PARIS – West Paris Grange 298 will hold its annual spring sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at their hall. There will be crafts, plants, bulbs for sale and luncheon will be available at noon. There will also be breads, pies, cakes and cookies.

Cemetery group

HARRISON – The Stewarts Corner Cemetery Association meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Bolster’s Mills Methodist Church.

Country music

PARIS – The Maine Country Musical Association will present a country Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Auditorium on Route 26, South Paris. Performers will be Slim Andrews and Ginger Mae Dyer, the Gelina Family, the Scoggin Cloggers and Bobby Thibodeau. Admission is $7 for adults, senior citizens and members $6, children 11 to 16 $5 and children 7 to 10 $2. For more information, call 674-2571.

Club turns 100

NORWAY – The Heywood Club of Norway, celebrating 100 years, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the clubhouse. Guest speaker will be David Sanderson, a historian on Mellie Dunham, who will give an update on the summer festival plans for Mellie Dunham Day. Orders will be taken for 100th anniversary T-shirts. Art show

PARIS – The SAD 17 kindergarten to grade 12 District Art Show will take place from Tuesday, May 13, to Friday, May 16, in the art classrooms in the district. Hours are 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. Admission is free.

Economic meeting

PARIS – The future of Oxford Hills’ economy will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. State panelist will be Charles Colgan, USM Muskie School, and Sen. Richard Bennett, president of the Maine State Senate. Community panelists will be Charleen Chase, executive director of Community Concepts, and Robert Harmon, president of Norway Savings Bank. Books needed

WATERFORD – Friends of the Waterford Library Association are seeking donations of books for the annual book sale on July 4 at the library on the green in Waterford Flat. No textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or magazines. Leave books in the library foyer or call 583-2050 and leave a message.

Family meal

NORTH WATERFORD – A family banquet will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the North Waterford Congregational Church vestry to raise funds to send children to summer camps. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased in advance from church members or at the door. There will be door prizes.

Bridge results

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge played a charity game on May 2. Winners were Eric and Marilyn Sahlberg, first; Carol Curran and Suzanne Dame-Andrews, second; Mike Quinn and Fred Letourneau, third: Barbara and Paul Beegel, fourth. Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge made a contribution to hospice care through the American Contract Bridge League. The group meets at 9 a.m. every Friday in the community room of Town and Country Mobile Home Village off Route 26. All bridge players are welcome and a partner is guaranteed. Blanket Sunday

NORTH WATERFORD – The North Waterford Congregational Church will observe Children’s Sunday and Blanket Sunday on Sunday, May 18. Following the worship service, the Oxford County United Parish will meet at 1:30 a.m.
