1919 – 2003

LEWISTON – Herbert Joseph Lovett, 83, died May 7, with his family at his side.

He was born Dec. 3, 1919, in Roxbury, Mass.

He married Ruth Marion (Shaw) on Oct. 9, 1948 and together they raised three children in Saugus, Mass. In 1986 they moved to Leeds and recently moved into Lewiston.

He was a longtime Mason and past member of the Kora Arab Patrol.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years; daughter, Ruth Arico and her companion John Reynolds of Londonderry, N.H.; son, Bruce and his wife Prasert of Sabattus; also grandchildren, Ruth Lovett Smith and husband Steve of Framingham, Mass., Bruce H. Lovett of Auburn, John Arico of Saugus, Mass.; and great-grandson, Justin MacAllister Smith.

He was predeceased by a son, Dr. Herbert J. Lovett Jr.
