Oak Hill remains perfect with a 9-2 win over KVAC rival Maranacook.
WALES – Patrick Duchette went four-for-four at the plate Wednesday to lead Oak Hill to a 9-2 victory over Maranacook.
Duchette tallied a key double in the fifth which sparked a three-run inning for the Raiders (9-0). Rick Leavitt pitched five innings and posted his third win of the season.
Mike Berube, Eben Gilman and Rob Cloutier shared pitching duties for the Black Bears (4-5), with Berube taking the loss.
Mt. Ararat 9, Leavitt 5
TURNER – Jim Ouellette smacked a two-RBI home run in the seventh inning to lift Mt. Ararat to a 9-5 win over Leavitt.
Mark Rogers also drilled a home run for the Eagles (6-3), sending two across the plate in the first inning. Brandon Galarneau pitched five innings and posted the win.
Chad Schrepper, Brandon Smith and Brian Berube all tallied doubles for the Hornets (3-6).
Dustin Gilbert threw six innings, striking out seven while taking the loss.
Livermore Falls 6, Wiscasset 1
LIVERMORE FALLS – Todd Cote scattered five hits in seven innings Wednesday to lead Livermore Falls to a 6-1 rout over Wiscasset.
Cote also had a key single in the first, driving in a pair of runs for the Andies (4-3). Nate Hamilton chipped in with an RBI double for Livermore Falls.
Dan Emery drove the lone run across for Wiscasset (3-3), while Bob Sawyer allowed 11 hits while taking the loss.
Lisbon 5, Boothbay 2
LISBON – Jon Tefft and Jarrod Church each smacked an RBI double in the third inning to lead Lisbon to a 5-2 win over Boothbay in baseball action Wednesday afternoon.
Tefft would record another RBI later in the game, while Church would go 2-for-3 on the day. Eric Giusto hit a double for the Greyhounds (5-0) win as well.
The Seahawks (1-4) were led by Will Carroll who hit a double and a single, Boothbay’s only two hits of the game. Matt Higgins struck out four batters for the effort.
Jay 18, Carrabec 3
NORTH ANSON – Josh Armandi went 5-for-5, with five RBIs, hitting a double and a triple to lead Jay to a dominating 18-3 win over Carrabec in five innings Wednesday.
Zach Charles hit two doubles, one as an RBI double in the second, for the Tigers (5-2) win as well.
AJ Nelson went 2-for-2, with a double, and three RBIs, while Joe Ouellette had two hits and three RBIs.
Ryan DiPompo rounded out the Tiger hitting with three singles and scored four runs for the win.
Biddeford 14, Lewiston 4
BIDDEFORD – Bryan Laverriere hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a two-run double in the second inning to lead Biddeford to a 14-4 win in five innings over Lewiston in SMAA baseball action Wednesday.
Matt Benson hit a two-run homer in the third inning for the Tigers (7-2) win, while Matt Lemay hit a double in the first inning as well.
Ross Cantara went 3-for-4 and had three runs scored for Biddeford.
The Blue Devils (0-9) were led by Mike Leclair who doubled in the first inning for the Lewiston effort.
Gould 11, Hebron 1
HEBRON – Kane Olson hit a double and a triple to lead Gould to an 11-1 win over Hebron Wednesday afternoon in baseball action.
Anthony Liberti hit a double for the Gould (7-2) win as well. Karl Olseon and Jason Mowrey combined for eight strikeouts for the Gould win.
Hebron (3-6) was led by Adam Nyitray and PJ Cusack struck out a combined four batters for the Hebron effort.
St. Dom’s 14, Traip 3
KITTERY – St. Dom’s jumped out to a 4-0 lead and scored in every inning thereafter to cruise to a 14-3 five-inning win over Traip in Western Maine Conference baseball action Wednesday.
Josh Dwinal, Mike Carpenter (three RBIs) and Tyler Turgeon (two RBIs) cracked two hits apiece for the Saints, while Ian Pullen scored four runs and stole six bases.
Jack Lavoie struck out five in five innings on the mound for the Saints (4-0).
Mtn. Valley 10, Mt. Abram 6
SALEM – Mountain Valley put together five hits and plated three runs in the third inning to come from behind and down Mt. Abram, 10-6, in high school baseball action Wednesday.
Mt Abram had taken a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Ian Venskus doubled for Mtn. Valley while Sterling Pingree and Sam Witherspoon recoreded a double and a triple respectively for the Roadrunners.
Karey Staires pitched five innings for Mt. Abram to earn the victory.
Oxford Hills 6, Gardiner 2
GARDINER – Chris Henderson unleashed a three-run home run in the seventh inning to lift Oxford Hills to a 6-2 victory over Gardiner.
Garrett Olson chipped in with a double for the Vikings (9-1), while Joe Baker took the mound win.
Stefan Black went the distance for Gardiner (4-5) and took the loss.
Mt. Blue 9, Lawrence 3
FAIRFIELD – Jason Shaw’s double keyed a three-run third inning which helped propel Mt. Blue to a 9-3 romp over Lawrence in KVAC baseball action.
Aaron Wolfe chipped in with a double for the Cougars (5-4), while Ben Saviello picked up the mound win.
Tim Lee and Pete McLaughlin led the offensive effort for Lawrence (5-5) with one double each.
Garrett Parker went the distance on the mound for Lawrence, allowing nine hits while taking the loss.
Hall-Dale 4, Dirigo 2
DIXFIELD – Ben Rowe belted an RBI double in the sixth inning to lift Hall-Dale to a 4-2 win over Dirigo in KVAC baseball action.
Rowe also pitched seven successful innings, allowing just six hits while earning the win. Nate Dunklee contributed with two hits for Hall-Dale (5-0).
Cory Wing and Ed Gracy led the hitting effort for Dirigo (5-3) with two hits apiece. John Pineau went the distance on the hill, allowing six hits while taking the loss.
Lacrosse
Brunswick 13, Mt. Blue 5
FARMINGTON – Mike Sfirri and Rory Murphy each netted four goals as Brunswick built and early lead and coasted to a 13-5 lacrosse win Wednesday.
Sam Reed scored a pair of goals for the Dragons.
Mt. Blue spread the scoring around. Tom Cook, Buzzy Cyr, Nate Bolduc, Garrett Lake, and Luke Ferreira all found the back of the net for the Cougars.
Freeman Scott made 20 saves in net for Mt. Blue. Brad Bishop stopped 10 shots for Brunswick.
Scarborough 6, St. Dom’s 4
AUBURN – Rich Roabi netted two goals as Scarborough snuck past St. Dom’s in lacrosse action Wednesday evening 6-4.
Bryan McPhie and Gaylen Bailey each netted a goal and recorded an assist for the Indians (1-6) win as well. Jason Barden and Ben Luja each chipped in with a goal a piece as well.
The Saints (0-6) were led by Zach Tyburski who found the back of the net four times for the effort.
David Hamilton stopped 18 shots for the win, while Brendan Dyer made 21 saves in the losing cause.
