MEXICO – The Learning Center at Region 9 Adult and Community Education will hold graduation at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in the Mountain Valley Middle School auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

Scouts’ camporee

RUMFORD – The Boy Scouts of Troop 580 will host the Abenaki District spring camporee on May 16-18 at Hosmer Field Sport Complex. The theme will be “First Aid and Rescue.” The public is invited to observe the first aid and rescue demonstrations on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Guitarist featured

DIXFIELD – The coffee house at Dixfield Congregational Church will present Charlie Maddaus, a local guitar player and singer, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 17. The cost is $5 at the door, and children 12 and under may get in for free. For more information, people can call Sharon at 562-4652.

Library’s friends

RUMFORD – The Friends of Rumford Public Library will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17. This will be an organizational meeting.

Beef dinner

RUMFORD – A roast beef supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Blazing Star Lodge, Route 232, sponsored by the Star Club. The menu will include roast beef, potatoes, gravy, peas, coleslaw, hot rolls and homemade pies.

The cost for adults is $8 and for children, $4. For more information, people can call 364-2943.
