I was so pleased to see the Old Orchard Beach Town Council is taking up the issue of motorcycle noise and that the city of Portland is doing the same.

It’s about time that someone is finally addressing this problem.

Every summer we have to endure their loud noises. In the area where I live, the bikers leave a restaurant in the neighborhood and race their bikes up the road and into the industrial park.

Last year you could see the marks in the road where they do their circles and race their bikes in the park. This is late in the evening and especially true on Tuesday evenings. It has already started this year.

I wonder how much some of them have had to drink and why they aren’t stopped like other motorists.

I have been told by other people how they race up and down their street, also. I am sure that there are many bikers who are very considerate and these other bikers are ruining it for them. You can hear the bikers all over the city with their loud bikes and see how they weave in between the traffic lanes, which is very dangerous.

The Lewiston City Council and administrators, along with the Police Department, should be doing something about this issue.
