1913 – 2003

LEWISTON – Simonne C. St. Hilaire, 90 of 26 Bolster St., Auburn, Bolster Heights Residential Care, died Saturday, May 10, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born at St. Camille, Quebec, on Feb. 18, 1913, the daughter of Alphonse and Cordelie Gaumond Marchand. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married July 22, 1939, to Irenee St. Hilaire, who predeceased her on Jan. 5, 2002.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a stitcher at Commonwealth Shoe Co. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeannine Obie and her husband, Arthur of Lewiston; a son, Bertrand St. Hilaire and his wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Germaine Dubuc of Auburn, Aline Lepage and her husband, Andre, Connie Beaule and her husband, Leo, and Rolande Beaule and her husband, Roger, all of Lewiston; and a brother, Glorio Marchand of Lewiston. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Jules Marchand; and two sisters, Armande and Mignonne.
