Heidi Lowell lead Mountain Valley’s onslaught in an 11-7 victory.

OAKLAND – Heidi Lowell found the back of the net three times to lead Mountain Valley to an 11-7 win over Messalonskee in girls lacrosse action Monday.

Sam Johnson, Jess Allen and Jess Hanson each chipped in with a pair of goals, while Ashley Arsenault and Allyson Byard each added a goal a piece as well.

Allen and Hanson recorded a combined three assists for the Falcons (3-4).

Messalonskee (0-7) was led by Dani McCarthy with three goals, while Megan Oliver, Britt Caron, and Sara Stevens combined to make up the other four.

Diana Burke stopped 17 shots for the Falcon win, while Amanda Dugal made 21 saves for the Eagles effort.

Softball

St. Dom’s 14, Traip 0

AUBURN – Emily Goss threw nine strikeouts and gave up only one hit in five innings to lead St. Dom’s to a dominating 14-0 win over Traip in softball action Monday afternoon.

On top of Goss’ fine performance on the mound, she went 2-for-4 on the day, hitting a two-run double in the first inning and a solo-homer in the fourth as the Saints (6-3) rolled past the Rangers (2-6).

Ilissa Vallee hit an RBI triple in the fourth inning while Laura Robitzek smashed a two-run double in the second for the Saints win as well.

Massabesic 4, Lewiston 2

WATERBORO – Michelle Chabot and Sonya O’Tash each doubled and Maygan Gilford pitched a complete-game five-hitter as Massabesic edged Lewiston 4-2 in SMAA softball action Monday.

Shannon Godin pitched the complete game for the Blue Devils (6-3), and had a two-run single in the top of the seventh to close the deficit to two.

The win was just the second on the season for the Mustangs (2-4).

Georges Valley 11, Lisbon 5

LISBON – Brea Little smashed a two-run triple in the fifth inning as Georges Valley beat Lisbon 11-5 in softball action Monday afternoon.

Vanessa Frisbie struck out eight batters and went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Buccaneers (6-1), while Elena Bertaci recorded two RBIs for the win. Juliette Laaka went 2-for-3 while Rachel Campbell went 3-for-5 on the day.

Krystal Doughty hit a one-run double in the first inning for the Greyhounds (2-5) effort. Dom Mathieu went 2-for-3 in the losing cause.
