GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) – A teenager remained in intensive care Monday after he was jolted by 69,000 volts of electricity, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Wayne Platt, 18, was attending an underage drinking party late Saturday night when he climbed a Niagara Mohawk utility tower, Fulton County Sheriff Tom Lorey said. As the electricity ran through his body, it knocked him off the pole, and caused second- and third-degree burns.
The utility tower is a popular spot for drinking parties.
, according to authorities.
Three teens were charged with possession of alcohol and could also face trespassing charges.
