SACO – Lewiston answered Thornton’s two-run rally in the sixth inning with four of its own in the seventh to pull away for a 7-2 victory over the Trojans.

Shannon Godin ripped a double for the Blue Devils (3-4) while Kim Bechard chipped in with a triple.

Thornton dropped to 3-4. Sarah Roth took the loss.

Mountain Valley 0

WINTHROP – Katie Wing pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Winthrop to a 12-0 softball win over Mountain Valley in MVC action Tuesday.

Winthrop erupted with six runs in the second inning and five more in the third. Heather Babb doubled and Megan Lynch belted a triple and single for the Ramblers.

For Mountain Valley, Jen Kellogg doubled and Kaly Bernard singled.

Jay 8, Hall-Dale 1

FARMINGDALE – Sara Fetterhoff and Allyson Irish belted doubles to lead Jay to a 8-1 victory over Hall-Dale.

The game was moved to Hall-Dale because the Tigers’ home field was unplayable.

The Tigers (5-4) were held to five hits, but took full advantage of six Bulldogs errors. Bre Loon limited Hall-Dale to one hit. Hall-Dale (5-4) scored its only run in the second inning.
