LEWISTON – The St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Visiting Artist Gallery is featuring Carole Rickards of Peru during May.

Rickards said as a young child she was fascinated with colors, shapes and textures and as she grew older the fascination grew more intense. She took high school art classes and the teacher encouraged her to continue to college and she attended the University of Maine at Augusta.

Her future husband then led her in a new direction – to that of nature. She has taken classes with Oscar Legere, Ilene Kerr and Kay Seefeldt and is passing on her knowledge and techniques to children and adults through her own classes at Hammond Hill Designs.
