The main point being claimed by most who oppose or want to reduce the proposed tax cut, right after they express their dislike for President Bush, is that it favors the wealthy.
Well, I’m not wealthy. However, I’m very glad that some people are because they provide jobs for folks like me.
I’m not an economics expert either, but I’ve really always thought that if anybody, whether rich or not so rich, was able to keep more of his or her own money to spend instead of having to send it to the politicians for them to argue over and to spend, that just made everything a little bit better.
As to whether the tax cut would favor the rich, I’m able to figure out that some percentage of a lot of money is more than the same percentage of a little bit of money. So those who start out with more will just naturally get more, and I just can’t see how that favors them over me.
If a rich person can keep more of his money and then have more to spend just like me, maybe together we’ll make it so businesses will need more help, and my neighbor and a lot of other folks will get their jobs back.
Sounds like simple logic to me, but then I’m not a politician getting paid big bucks by the taxpayers to figure out how to spend and waste more of our money.
