Dear Sun Spots: I am searching for anyone who does calligraphy in the Lewiston-Auburn or surrounding area. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
You may want to contact Central Maine Technical College Corporate and Community Services, which is offering a series of workshops starting shortly that were featured in the Connections section May 15.

Among the classes being offered is a calligraphy class, which will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. Cost is $30 and includes materials. Participants will learn the art of writing beautifully through calligraphy and apply that learning to create meaningful cards, letters, poems, stories or manuscripts. The workshop will be taught by Sue Whitmore of Westbrook. It will be held in Jalbert Hall. For more information or to register, contact the CMTC Corporate and Community Services Department at 755-5280 or 1-800-891-2002, extension 280, e-mail ccs@cmtc.net or visit www.cmtc.net/training.

Dear Sun Spots: We enjoy your column and now I need help. I have been looking for a shamrock plant that has reddish maroon leaves and little white flowers that my sister had and now I have it as she has passed away. The other name is called Opalis Corymbosa. This plant closes its leaves at night, much like the prayer plants. It is very old. I would be willing to go pick it up and pay you for it if anyone out there would be willing to share either a slip or a small plant. I can be reached at P.O. Box 618, North Turner, ME 04266, (207) 224-7705, e-mail mainemona@yahoo.com. – Mona Gardner, North Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: Once again the Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association in Farmington is looking for donations to their annual yard/plant/garden sale to be held June 7 at the old Fairbanks School, Route 4 (2½ miles north of Farmington center). This is a fund-raising event to help with reconstruction of the old Fairbanks School that burned down in 1998. We are a nonprofit association to build a “home” for many charitable causes. For donations/more information, please call (207) 778-4349, (207) 778-4272 or (207) 778-6214. – Patty Jacobs, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: You are a great source of information. Can you please tell me where I can find a slipcover for a living room, wing type chair? Locally or catalog. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I am hoping someone has a rug hooking frame (either floor or lap model) and a wool cutter that they no longer use or want and are interested in selling for a reasonable price. Please write to me at P.O. Box 235, Rangeley, ME 04970. Thank you very much. – Lorrain Durham, Rangeley.
