WEST PARIS – Memorial Day ceremonies in West Paris begin at 11 o’clock Monday morning with a parade marching from the Ring-MacKeen American Legion Post to the Memorial Bridge, Wayside Cemetery and back to the center of the village. Formal ceremonies will be held at the bridge and cemetery.

In case of bad weather, the ceremonies will move into the West Paris Grange Hall on Church Street.

Greenwood:

Parade slated

for 9 a.m Monday

GREENWOOD – Greenwood will hold its Memorial Day celebration beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, May 26, with its annual parade marching from the Jackson-Silver American Legion Post on the Gore Road to the town memorial in Locke Mills Village.

The town’s traditional ceremony will be held there, after which the parade will continue on to Mount Abram Cemetery for the placing of flags on the graves of war veterans. From there it will return to post headquarters, where refreshments will be served.

In case of bad weather, Greenwood will hold its observance in the American Legion Hall on the Gore Road.

Newry:

Celebration

set for Sunday

NEWRY – Newry will kick off holiday festivities in the area with a Memorial Day weekend celebration starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 25. People are invited to gather at the town office on Route 26 for coffee and doughnuts at that time; the formal ceremony will begin at noon.

In case of bad weather, Newry’s ceremonies will move inside the town office building.
