1931 – 2003

LEWISTON – Raymond P. Lussier, 71, of 75 King Ave. in Lewiston died peacefully with his family at his side Friday, May 30, at Marshwood Health Care Facilities. Born in Lewiston on Oct. 21, 1931, a son of Albanie & Valeda Pelletier Lussier, and was educated at St. Mary’s School in Lewiston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, and worked at Bates College as supervisor in the maintenance department. He enjoyed playing cards, working around the house and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife the former Theresa Custeau Lussier of Lewiston, a son Ray Lussier and wife Ellen of So. Paris; six daughters and son-in-laws, Joanne and Steve Bly of Buckfield, Pat and Lenny Ashton of Lewiston, Rita and Mike Lemieux of Turner, Dot and Charles Goodwin of Turner, Cecile Martin and Mark Chase of Mechanic Falls, Thersa and Ron Deschenes of Auburn; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Berube and husband Alfred of Lewiston, Lorraine Tancrede Lewiston, Connie Boilard and husband Reginald of Sabattus; a step-daughter Sandy Hopkins of Lewiston; three grandchildren Eric Hopkins of Leeds, Brad Parker of Portland, and Markie Plante of Old Orchard.

He was predeceased by a step-daughter Brenda Plante and three brothers, Herve, Bertrand and Reynold, all of Lewiston.
