Our state legislators have opted to ask voters to say yes or no on 12 separate items, ganged together, totaling $60 million in a referendum. Some of these articles should be supported. We, as voters, do not have the opportunity to pick and choose. It is all or nothing!

This should be called coat-tail bonding; the ones with merit carry the entire group.

The articles that are truly needed should pass through committee, be debated, fine tuned, funded and passed by both legislative bodies, not by passing the buck to the voters. The governor’s office is the final step.

On June 10 we will likely see the bond issue pass because of low primary voter response.

Is it time to stop grouping bond issues?

In the future, would we like to have a voice on each bond article?
