RUMFORD – The SAD 43 board will learn of several resignations and dozens of appointments for the next school year when they meet on Tuesday, June 3.

They will also enter into three closed sessions.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the library of Mountain Valley High School.

Among the resignations is one from high school Assistant Principal Matthew Gilbert, who is leaving after two years to become principal of Livermore Falls Middle School. Head custodian Jim Cormier also is resigning.

Appointments will be made for more than 40 co- and extra-curricular positions at the high school, Mountain Valley Middle School, Virginia Elementary School and Rumford Elementary School, as well as for Michael Lavorgna as head teacher at Virginia school and Barbara DeSalle as head teacher at Rumford Elementary School. An advisory team to the superintendent will be named as well.

Closed sessions are scheduled on individual contract negotiations.

The search for a new superintendent and for another personnel matter also will be considered in closed session.

The traditional Monday meeting has been moved to Tuesday to allow residents to attend Monday’s annual town meeting in Rumford.
