Area soccer registrations are upcoming.

The Minot-Hebron Athletic Association will conduct fall soccer registrations, Thursday, June 5, and Sunday, June 8, from 6-8 p.m. at the Minot Consolidated School. More information can be obtained by calling Mike Theriault at 346-6610.

The Poland Youth League will hold soccer registration, Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Poland Community School. Contact Pat Murphy at 998-2644 for additional information.

Relay race planned

PORTLAND – Maine Handicapped Skiing is sponsoring the 5th annual Casco Bay Challenge, a 5-sport competitive relay race, Sunday, August 10 at East End Beach.

Teams of up to six people will be competing in a 34.1 relay race which includes biking, running, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. There will be assorted divisions.

Becher competed

WORCESTER, Mass. – Joseph Becher, a graduate of Oxford Hills High School, was a sophomore midfielder for the Clark University men’s lacrosse team which recently ended a 1-7 season. Becher tallied 6 goals.

Paddle event set

FREEPORT – L.L. Bean is sponsoring the PaddleSports Festival, June 21-22, starting at 9 a.m. each day. Involved will be paddling experts, kayaking tours and displays of new equipment.
