As the school year ends and summer approaches, many young students will be hunting for summer jobs. I am one of those students.
About two or three weeks ago I decided to get a jump on the competition by starting out on my search for a job. To my surprise, most every business I have looked into has a required starting age of 16 or above.
I don’t believe this is fair to the young people trying to get some job experience. I think the Legislature should rethink some of the job requirements of young adults.
School should be a student’s top priority. However, real life education such as jobs would really help kids learn responsibilities and gain some skills in the job market.
