FARMINGTON – Certificates of Completion have been awarded to four SAD 9 Adult and Community Education students who attended a course titled Illustrating Children’s Books, at the Hathaway Studio in Wilton.

The class covered planning layouts for each page with illustrations showing characters, setting and some of the events. The illustrations were done in various mediums. Students completed a replica of their book that could be presented to a printer to show exactly how the book should look when printed.

Certificates were awarded by Barbara Hathaway to Sonia Johnson and Tami Wentworth, both of Rangeley; Sandra Maccarrone of Farmington and Megan Schanz of Temple. Hathaway is the author illustrator of “A Clown a Day” and “The Legend of Dasher and the Toymaker.

The artist is offering an outdoor watercolor workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Bass Park, Wilton. To register, call 645-3449.
