Seniors checkup

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce has announced a SeniorsPlus benefit checkup. SeniorsPlus and AARP are partnering to inform senior citizens in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties they may be eligible for more public benefit assistance than they currently can claim.

Focused promotional efforts about this program will be implemented for six weeks from Monday, June 9, through July 18. The promotion is targeting those age 60 and older, and singles with income below $2,245 per month, or a 60-year-old-plus couple with income below $3,030 per month.

These eligibility income limits have recently changed. People who were not eligible before may be eligible now; and those currently receiving some benefits may now be eligible for more.

SeniorsPlus and AARP can help these seniors receive possible entitled income that could help pay for prescription drug costs, health insurance programs, food buying, and more.

Phone 1-877-ELDERS1, or 1-877-353-3771, or visit www.seniorsplus.org to see about qualifying.
