1975 – 2003

SOUTH PARIS – Bradley C. Paakkonen, 28, of South Paris died at home, unexpectedly Sunday, June 8.

He was born in Norway on Jan. 18, 1975, the son of Wanda Johnson and Jimmie Paakkonen. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1993. He had worked in the past at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center and the Maine Veterans Home. He was most recently employed by John F. Murphy Homes in Mechanic Falls.

Over the years he had received several awards including but not limited to: most encouraging, being the one you can count on, best peace maker, kindest to the people he worked for, most cheerful, most fun to be around, best attitude, and he was also voted best employee on second shift.

When “Brad” wasn’t working he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Savanna and the rest of his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides being an excellent employee, he was a terrific father, son, grandson, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his mother, Wanda Johnson of South Paris; his father, Jimmie Paakkonen and his wife Hazel of South Paris; his daughter, Savanna Paakkonen and her mother, Tina Binette of Lewiston; a sister, Tracie Paakkonen of South Paris; his special niece, Kayla Paakkonen of South Paris; his very special maternal grandmother, Bertha Johnson of Norway; paternal grandmother, Joyce Beaudoin and her husband Roland of Norway; Brad’s companion, Phyllis Sargeant of South Paris; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
