PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the speaker at the 10 a.m. service, Sunday, June 15, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. Her sermon is titled, “Be Well; Do Good Work; Stay in Touch,” during which she will explore thoughts on good parenting advice for Father’s Day.

Also, the church will have the rare opportunity to premiere a new hymn composed by Nathan Harmon, who will also provide the musical meditation. Harmon is a graduate of Hebron Academy, class of 2003, and has been for three years a student of organist, Forest Perkins, studying music theory and composition. Everyone is welcome.

Lodge program

PARIS – Paris Lodge 94, AF and AM, will meet Tuesday, June 17, at the lodge on East Main Street, South Paris. Supper will be at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7:30. Art Gouin will present a program titlted: Heard and Seen at Masonic Lodge meetings.”

Bible school

STONEHAM – The Rev. George Frobig has announced that Vacation Bible School will be held June 23 through June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year North Waterford Congregational Church and Stoneham Congregational Church are joining with the Waterford Congregational Church to hold Bible school, and classes will be held at the Wilkins House in Waterford. Volunteers are needed to help with classes, to teach crafts, and to provide refreshments and transportation. Call Frobig at 693-6461 to volunteer.

Frobig has also announced that beginning on July 6, the Oxford County United Parish will hold two morning worship services each Sunday through August. Services will be held at 9 a.m. at the Stoneham Church, and at 10:30 a.m. at the North Waterford Church.

Bean supper

WATERFORD – A public supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the North Waterford Congregational Church. The menu includes baked beans, American chop suey, casseroles, salads, brown bread, rolls, beverages and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Book sale

WATERFORD – Friends of the Waterford Library will hold its annual used book sale from 8 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 4, at the library on the green in Waterford Flat.

Library tote bags and note cards will also be on sale. Donations of books are welcome prior to the sale.
