BOWDOINHAM – Hope Hoffman’s Town Hall Theater Project will present Summer Theater Camp 2003. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 14 to 18. Deadline for registration is June 18.

Students will show what they have learned and made in a performance from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, July 18, at the Bowdoinham Town Hall.

Children ages 7 to 10 will learn about local farms, wildlife and ecosystems, while creating theater, music and crafts.

Kids will create a show in collaboration with choreographer/director Hope Hoffman and musician Craig Hensley. They will write and direct their own scenes, including movement, dialogue and song. Ideas will be developed through structured activities, using imagination, following directions and interacting with music.

Activities will include crafts: props and scenery, large banners illustrating local farms; music: creative games and exercises to learn about rhythm, tone and pitch, opportunities to sign along, play along and dance along with musicians; theater: creative movement with live music, theater games and exercises, improvisation and teamwork, writing and directing their own scenes.

Cost per child will be $150, ages 7 to 10; family discount, two or more children enrolled in the program (deduct $25 from balance). Checks should be made payable to Bowdoinham Recreation Dept. The maximum number of students is 15.
