ST. PETER, Minn. – Best Buy Children’s Foundation has awarded two scholarships to local students.
Tess Chamberland, a 2003 graduate of Edward Little High School, is the daughter of Bob and Arlene Chamberland of Auburn and plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington.
Kristin Jacques is a 2003 graduate of Lewiston High School. She is the daughter of Ron and Kathy Jacques of Lewiston and plans to attend Boston College next fall.
This year the Children’s Foundation, through its partnership with Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America Inc., awarded more than $2 million to graduating high school seniors and college undergraduates across the country.
Up to four students in every U.S. Congressional District and the District of Columbia will receive a scholarship valued from $500 to $2500.
Scholarships were awarded to students who volunteer time to their communities, excel in academics, participate in extracurricular activities and are entering or attending an accredited university, college or technical school.
