LISBON FALLS – “Read Around the World” this summer at the Lisbon Falls and Lisbon Village libraries. The summer reading club will run from June 16 to Aug. 5 for ages 5 to 15. Add up the “miles” and receive prizes that include pins, bookmarks, One World bracelets, dogtags, water bottles and paperback books.
Tuesday, June 24, will be Family Night. Jerry Schneider, the “Butterfly Man,” will be at the Lisbon Falls Library at 6:30 p.m. The program will include a slide show and creating a butterfly T-shirt (those attending provide the shirt). There is limited seating so call to sign up.
In addition to reading the program will offer a weekly story/craft time at 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Falls library and at 3 p.m. Thursdays at the Village library.
For all the children who read during the summer, the Friends of the Library will sponsor an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The entertainment will be musician Annie Wenz. Awards and prizes will be presented.
The library is also looking for items and postcards from around the world to display.
