SCARBOROUGH – Andy Santerre’s second journey from Harrisburg, N.C., in eight days was worth the effort.

Santerre, a native of Cherryfield now living in the south and driving a NASCAR Busch North Series car for Rangeley’s Joe Bessey, scored his third BNS win in four starts this season Saturday night in the Forest City Chevrolet 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

The race was cancelled due to rain last weekend. Saturday’s skies were just as ominous for most of the day, but the teams took to a dry track for practice at 1 p.m., and the schedule unfolded without a hitch.

It was Santerre’s second win at Beech Ridge. The defending Busch North champion has finished second at the track on three occasions.

Eddie MacDonald finished second, followed by series rookie Ryan Moore, who lives about a mile from the track where he turned his first competitive racing laps only five years ago.

Ryan Shepard of Naples won the main support feature, a weekly, 40-lap NASCAR Pro Series event.
