CASCO – New Balance associates from Norway trekked to Camp Sunshine to help prepare the Campus for the beginning of its 2003 spring/summer sessions over the weekend. Associates put on their sneakers and rolled up their sleeves to paint, do yard work, wash windows, all in the spirit of connecting with the community.

New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc., headquartered in Boston, Mass., has a store in Norway. The company employs more than 2,400 people around the globe.

“We are committed to giving back to the communities in which we do business, and there is no better way than to enable our associates to get involved in a hands-on manner,” stated Anne Davis, executive vice president of administration.

In addition to their volunteerism, associates of the Norway facility have raised money for Camp Sunshine via the facility’s Annual Employee Charity Sale.

“We are so pleased to have the support from New Balance at both the corporate and employee levels,” said Matt Hoidal, Camp Sunshine’s executive director. “Their support has played a major part in the expansion of our services over the past couple of years.”

Camp Sunshine will conduct 16 disease specific sessions from mid-June through October. For more information, contact the camp at (207) 655-3800.
