BUCKFIELD – The Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield will offer classes for students, ages 6 to 18, this summer. Classes will be instructed by Amanda Huotari and Michael Miclon.

Theater Play for ages 6 to 8, with Amanda Huotari, will be presented Monday, July 28 to Saturday, Aug. 2 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; showcase for family and friends on Saturday at 10 a.m. This class will introduce young students to the stage through theater games and improvisation. Each class will be a new adventure in mime, storytelling and creating characters. Cost is $30.

Funny Business for ages 9 to 12, with Amanda Huotari, will be presented Monday, July 28, to Saturday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; showcase for family and friends on Saturday at 10 a.m. As an introduction to comedy, this class will include improvisation, slapstick and circus skills. Cost is $45.

Getting Serious About Comedy with Mike Miclon will be held in two sessions. Session one will be July 7 to July 12, for grades seven and eight; and session two will be from Aug. 11 to Aug. 16, for grades nine to 12. Class times will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with lunch and dinner included. Each full day of classes will begin with skill building sessions, including mime, juggling and improvisation. Afternoons will be devoted to working individually and in groups on characters, props, costumes and sketches. This will give students the tools they need to create their own comic material. Every student will have the opportunity to perform for friends and families in an evening show on the last day of the workshop.Tuition is $350, lunch and dinner included.
