LEWISTON – Pam Allen has been appointed executive director of SeniorsPlus.

Allen, former director of Elder Independence of Maine, has been acting as interim executive director of SeniorsPlus since the resignation of Eloise O’Neill in mid-March.

Allen’s career with SeniorsPlus spans beyond two decades, beginning in 1979. She has held multiple positions at the agency, including outreach worker, systems manager and assistant executive director.

Allen acknowledged the challenge ahead is to do more with less, but she said she has a vision for the agency and is ready to face the challenges.

SeniorsPlus is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. The private, nonprofit agency is supported by funds from the Department of Human Services, the Bureau of Elder and Adult Services, area United Way Agencies, local municipalities, the generosity of private donors and the dedication of volunteers.
