In recent weeks, I have read about the revitalization of downtown Lewiston-Auburn so it will be more attractive for business and others to move here.
Instead of putting up new buildings, we should utilize the space already available.
One sure way of making the Twin Cities more attractive would be to start repaving the streets. Remove the cobblestones that line both sides of Lisbon Street and make that a two-lane street again. Nobody wants to ruin their car driving over them. They are really a nuisance and very unattractive as well.
People in the Twin Cities are burdened by having their cars in the shop often for realignment because of the disrepair of the streets. This certainly doesn’t make either city attractive.
If I didn’t live here already, I wouldn’t move here from somewhere else.
They also need to get the traffic patterns in both cities straightened out by synchronizing the traffic lights and not have two green lights and a red light then another red light.
If they start by correcting these things, the Twin Cities will again thrive. Think about it and do it.
Make the Twin Cities proud and make people proud to say they live here or have a business here.
