FARMINGTON – Foothills Land Conservancy will hold its annual meeting Monday, June 30, at the American Legion Hall on Main Street. After a short business meeting at 6:30 p.m., the program will be Woody and Aquatic Plant Species – What to Look For. The public is invited to attend.

Pamela Prodan, president of Foothills Land Conservancy, who has been studying woody invasive shrubs for the past two years, will explain why scientists consider certain species to be invasive and show examples of several shrubs that have been found to be invasive in Maine.

Dan Buckley, a professor in the Natural Sciences Department of the University of Maine at Farmington, will show some invasive aquatic plants that could occur in Maine lakes. Buckley is currently monitoring invasive aquatic plants.
