Major division: Hannaford maintained its hot hand with four recent victories, including a first-round playoff triumph. Dustin Oberlander led the grocerymen with 14 strikeouts and a complete game effort in a 5-3 win over Dube Flower. Derek Hall and Calvin Chicoine ripped two hits apiece, while Josh Pelletier turned in a triple. Ben Wigant had three hits for Dube. Pelletier threw three strong innings in a 6-5 win over Reed Paper. Oberlander and Derek Haskell each smacked two hits, while Reed’s Zach Parker and Tony Saucier matched that effort. Hannaford also topped Falcon Shoe 12-5 and backed it up with a 12-8 postseason triumph. Benjamin Chicoine picked up his first Majors pitching win with Cody Dussault hurling three strong innings of relief in the regular-season tilt. Derek Haskell notched the save. Elliot Chicoine ripped a pair of singles. Robbie Leeman and D.J. St. Pierre each had two hits for Falcon. Oberlander homered and doubled to support winning pitcher Alex Chicoine in the playoff rematch. Josh Pelletier added a homer and a triple, whiel Haskell, Dussault and Calvin Chicoine were all repeat hitters. For Falcon, Leeman smacked a homer and a double, while Matt Lemare added two hits.

Cross Insurance downed Hannaford 12-11 in the semifinals. Casey Parker went 4-for-4, belting a triple and scoring the game-winning run in the seventh inning. Parker scored five runs, while his brother Alex scored two and pitched the seventh frame to earn the win. David Ouellette and Scott Wilson chipped in two hits apiece. Calvin Chicoine, Josh Pelletier and Derek Haskell were Hannaford’s repeat hitters.

Minor division: Lighting Concepts dropped Wal-Mart 13-3 and defeated Wendy’s 8-7 in recent action. Luke Cote was the winning pitcher against Wal-Mart. He also belted a two-run triple. Devin Long threw three shutout innings and ripped a bases-loaded triple. Matt Therrien went 3-for-3. Justin Denbow was 2-for-3. Long picked up the mound win in the second triumph. Cote went 2-for-2 with a double, and Cody Chapman clocked a two-run double. Dylan Dunne dropped a bunt single. For Wendy’s, Matt Poto had three singles. Shawn Handler belted a ground rule double, and Darian Pilotte was 2-for-2.

Wendy’s knocked off Caron’s 5-2. Matt Poto and Shawn Handler combined for 13 strikeouts and a two-hitter, with Handler scoring the victory. Handler had a double. Spencer Simoneau was the only repeat hitter for Wendy’s. David Cusson and Jordan Charest provided the big hots for Caron’s, while Charest and Jacob Bergeron produced a combined five strikeouts on the hill.

Wal-Mart picked up two victories. In a 13-4 win over Poussard Construction, Jason Colon had a two-run triple. Matt Boucgard added three hitsm and Mike Bouchard cracked two doubles. John Goulet had two hits for Poussard, and Colby Poussard slapped a double. Leo Kates slapped three hits in a 5-4 win over Roux Insurance. Brian Wigant had the game-winning hit, and Brett Delawter made a game-saving catch. Adam Rivera doubled for Roux and had two RBIs.

Senior division: Pepsi blanked Portland Bayside 5-0 behind Zack Timmeyer’s three-hitter. He struck out 16 on the mound and backed it up at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Brian Ricker and Jonathan Chick also belted two hits and drove in a run apiece. Nick Blais scored five runs and Tony Richard crossed the plate four times to lead Roux Insurance to a wild 19-17 win over Emerson Chevy. Blais had three hits. Alex Lafreniere added two with three RBIs, and Richard ripped a double. Dustin Theriault slapped three hits and scored four runs for Emerson. Willie Emerson and Ryan Dube each had two hits. Evan Kordalski struck out 10 in earning the pitching win.

Auburn Suburban

Auburn Firefighters picked up two wins a tie in recent action. Shawn Hird had two triples and Eric Bonawitz added two hits, including a double, in a 4-2 victory over VFW. Natha Sipe added a key hit in the win. Tyler Babb and Corey Theriault each had two hits for VFW. Hird had two hits in a 6-2 win over HWD. Mark Anthoine doubled, Danny Gleason added a key hit, and Billy Brewster struck out 15 to earn the pitching victory. Matt Gordon and Jake Farrago had hits for HWD. In a 7-7 deadlock with East Auburn, Conner Anthoine and Mark Anthoine each slapped two hits, while Gleason added another timely safety. Josh Mains had two hits and Kirsten Prue poked another for East Auburn.

South Lewiston

Minor division: Willy Desmarais’ hit pushed home the game-winning run as St. Hilaire Construction topped Robustelli, Rotz & Soucy 18-17. Colby Miles and Robert St. Hilaire were also big hitters.

Androscoggin Savings outlasted Don Morin’s Photo 16-8. Justin Fortier went 4-for-4 with two triples, while Devin Bilodeau and Daniel Fortier each had two doubles.
