WILTON – Selectmen will consider signing an agreement on a conditional gift of property when they meet Tuesday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office.

At their last meeting, officials tabled making any decision on a conditional gift of land in East Wilton until they received more details. About half of the town’s baseball field is on private property. The landowner is willing to let the town have the property in exchange for a culvert and enough gravel for a 50-foot driveway. Town Manager Peter Nielsen estimates the value of the requested work to be about $1,400.

Officials will hear a report from Code Enforcement Officer Brenda Medcoff about cleanup efforts at a site in violation of town regulations when they meet Tuesday. Nielsen said complaints about a junkyard on Route 2 next to Curves for Women are being addressed. He said the debris is in the process of being removed.

Shannon Smith, coordinator of the town’s bicentennial celebration, will update officials on plans for the event. The celebration will take place in conjunction with the town’s annual Blueberry Festival the first weekend in August.

Selectmen will open and review bids for asphalt mulch, the town’s 2003 reclaiming and repaving project, and a plow truck for the highway department. They also will consider a town employee request for the town to offer domestic partner health insurance coverage.

Officials will also meet with Wilton Fire Chief Fred Hyde and East Dixfield Fire Chief Randy Hall in an effort to improve cooperation between the two departments. The two towns share the funding for the East Dixfield Department.

Selectmen will consider authorizing Nielsen to sign a renewal contract for groundwater monitoring at the town’s closed landfill, and Nielsen will update selectmen on the progress on a harvest management plan for a woodlot on the Old Guy Chandler Road. The town owns the property.

Officials also will consider signing a liquor renewal license for the Boiler Room Restaurant and a cable television franchise renewal agreement with Adelphia for its three residential customers in East Dixfield.

Selectmen will act on a list of appointments for the upcoming fiscal year, and Nielsen will let selectmen know the details of correspondence from Franklin Memorial Hospital.
