LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, July 7, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin with a social time at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch at noon. A program is planned.

Society speaker

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, in the archive and meeting room, 9 Union St. Bill Barr, local historian, will discuss 10 years of history from 1853 to 1863. The public is welcome to the free program.

Vacation school

BOWDOIN – The West Bowdoin Baptist Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. July 14 through 18. A closing program on Friday, July 18, will feature a skit and songs the children will learn throughout the week. Call Cheryl Dwyer at 353-2053 for details.

WINTHROP – The following officers were elected for the 2003-2004 year at a recent meeting of Winthrop Grange 209:

Stephen Gilman, master; Stanwood Taylor, overseer and lecturer; William Maxim, steward; Melissa King, assistant steward; Leslie Gilman, lady assistant steward; Eleanor Hill, chaplain; Leslie Gilman, treasurer; Gloria Sylvester, secretary.

Also, Donald Yeaton, gatekeeper; Joyce Jean, Ceres; Irma Folsom, Pomona; Audrey Yeaton, Flora; William Maxim, executive committee for three years.

Gilman appointed Wesley Bard as musician and Norma Maxim, chairwoman of the Committee on Women’s Activities.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on June 30 were: N/S, first, Joann Morris and Rolande Poulin, third overall; second, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver, fifth overall; third, Lucille Bilodeau and Roger Briggs; fourth, Betty and Doug Sise, second overall in B, first overall in C; Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett, third overall in C.
