RUMFORD – State Sen. Bruce Bryant and Rep. John Patrick fielded questions from individuals concerning the recently enacted Dirigo Health Plan at a forum held on June 19 at the Rumford Eagles Hall. This followed a presentation by Adam Thompson of Gov. John Baldacci’s staff. The Oxford County Democrats met following the Health Forum for a pot-luck supper and meeting.

Representatives to Convention 2004 committees were elected as follows: Lynn Baker of Waterford to the Rules Committee, Nancy Willard of Woodstock to the Permanent Organization Committee, and Mike Broderick and Ginger Kelly of Bethel and Pamela Pace of Dixfield to the Platform Committee.

Cathy Newell reported on the June Democratic State Committee meeting. Dottie Melanson of Cumberland County was elected as state party chairperson.

Bryant reported on redistricting and displayed maps showing the final plan for the House seats and the court’s proposal for state senate.

Reports were given concerning on-going projects and plans for summer and fall events.
