1922 – 2003

LEWISTON – Rhea L. Fortin, 80, died Monday, June 30, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 7, 1922, the daughter of Amidee and Alice (Cote) Boulay. She was a member of Holy Trinity St. Ann Parish in Lisbon. On Nov. 28, 1946 she married Bertrand Fortin, who died on Dec. 4, 1991.

In her early years she worked for many years for her father in his grocery business, which she truly enjoyed doing. She worked at area nursing homes as a certified nurse’s aid for a number of years.

She enjoyed sewing. Her favorite interest and most important to her was to spend time with family members she loved, and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Constance and her husband Dan Leslie of Enunitas, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Maria Fortin of Topsham; a sister, Theresa Kellam of Oregon; a brother, Raymond Boulay and his wife Madeliene of Lisbon; and three grandchildren, Grace, Eric and Alexis.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son Ronald; and two brothers, Laurent and Rene Boulay.
