SABATTUS – Louis L. Labonte, 83, of 348 Lisbon Road, Sabattus, died Thursday, July 3, with his family by his side.

Born on Jan. 6, 1920, the son of John and Alberta (LeBrun) Labonte. He married his wife of 63 years, Cecile Belanger on April 20, 1940. He served in World War II with the 3rd Division 15th Infantry of the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 22 of Lewiston and a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Parish in Sabattus. Prior to his retirement he worked for many years at the former Eastern Distributors Inc. in the beer and wine division.

Besides his wife of Sabattus he is survived by two daughters, Nancy and her husband Maurice Cloutier of Park City, Utah, Alice Cropall of Smyrna, Ga; three brothers, Roland Labonte of Lewiston, Oscar Labonte of Sabattus and Joseph Labonte of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Roger, Mark, Steve, Wade and Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Cassie and Carson.

He was predeceased by one sister, Blanche Rioux; and two brothers, Aime and Normand.
