1931 – 2003
LEWISTON – Yves G. Deschenes, 71, of 49 Acadia Ave. died Thursday, July 3, at Ste Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion with his family by his side. Born in Brunswick Nov. 29, 1931, a son of Sylvio and Marie Laure Beaulieu Deschenes he was educated in Brunswick schools.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and worked for 38 years at the Pejepscot Paper Co., he also worked part-time at the Central Maine Youth Center , Lewiston School Department and Grants Bakery.
Deschenes was a member of Holy Cross Parish and loved spending time with his family at the camp. He enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage, watching hockey games and boxing, coffee with his buddies and taking trips to Canada.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anita Pare Deschenes of Lewiston, whom he married May 30, 1955.
He leaves behind four daughters, Ann Dennis and husband Richard of Lewiston,
Cynthia Deschenes of Auburn, Lisa Bergeron and husband Phil of Massachusetts,
Laurie Cote and husband William of Leeds; four sons, Paul and wife Cynthia of Lewiston, Michael of Lewiston, John of Lewiston, Richard of Brunswick; 11 grandchildren, Leigh-Anne, Stacey, Timothy, Dustin, Stephanie, Ryan, Dylan, Carolyn, Rebecca, Remy and Lexi.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Pierrette Deschenes Bernier.
