Each teacher had taught for more than 25 years.
LEWISTON – Three Edward Little High School teachers were honored at a retirement banquet on June 12 at the Ramada Inn.
The masters of ceremonies for the night were Jen Braunfels and Erin Towns. There was a family-style meal and the “Folkairs” provided pre-dinner music. After dinner, a group of teachers danced for the retirees and Principal James Miller spoke.
Dinner was followed by a slide show honoring Diane Ackerman. Ackerman taught English for 26 years and was also the gifted and talented coordinator. Speaking on her behalf were Penny Davis-Dublin and Candy Gleason.
Next was Faye Gagnon. Gagnon taught for 36 years as a special education teacher. There was a slide show for her and Tina Vanesse spoke on her behalf.
Betsy Nelson was the last retiree to be honored. She taught for 30 years as a special education teacher. After a slide show Jackie Misenhimer spoke on her behalf.
