BETHEL – A public hearing will be held by the Planning Board at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, in the town office on a site plan application for the town’s proposed new fire station.
Architect applicant James Reuter will be available to discuss the Mill Road project, which was narrowly approved by a June 11 town meeting vote of 320-304.
The $1.3 million project includes the design, construction and equipping of a 10,000-square-foot fire station to replace the existing 5,000-square-foot structure.
At 7 p.m. or when the hearing is adjourned, planners will conduct their regular meeting, continuing work on a host of old business items. These include:
• A subdivision application for Sunset Hill Subdivision at Sunset, Intervale and Bailey roads by applicant Chris Brink/Sunset Hill LLC.
• A site plan application for the new Bethel Fire Station.
• A site plan amendment for applicant David Lane’s Chosun Restaurant on Main Street.
• A subdivision plan amendment for applicant Robert Blake’s Pine Haven Subdivision at Pine Haven Lane and Intervale Road.
• A subdivision-site plan application for applicant Scott Stone’s Mill Hill Residential Tri-Plex on the Mill Hill Road.
Additional work includes a pre-application conference/advisory for Stone Mountain Mortgage Building signage and action on applicant Bertin Engineering Assoc./Michael Loin’s sign application for a Shell fuel station at 59 Mayville Road.
Prior to both the hearing and board meeting, the Sign Committee is slated to meet at 6 p.m. to discuss Loin’s project.
