1923 – 2003

AUBURN – Simone M. Rousseau, 79, of 185 Summer St., Auburn, died Saturday, July 5, at Auburn Residential Care, following a long illness.

Born at St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada, Aug. 26, 1923, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Thibodeau) Lavoie, she had been a resident of this community since 1940.

She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church. She was the widow of Robert A. Rousseau who died on April 24, 1992.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Doris) Lundy of Hollland, Mich., and Mrs. James (Georgette) Heeter of Elk Grove, Calif.; one son-in-law, Herbert Millett of Greene; two sisters, Lizzie Drouin of Auburn and Mrs. Marcel (Marie) Rousseau of Lewiston; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Lavoie of Auburn and Carol Lavoie of Enfield, Conn.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Lynette Millett on Aug. 22, 2000; one son who died at birth; seven brothers; and six sisters.
