LIVERMORE FALLS – The July-August display in the Community Art Gallery is a varied one, featuring subjects from Maine berries to a teddy bear and cradle, all the work of Joyce Dubay of New Vineyard.

The exhibit is cheerful and soothing and provides a bit of humor, as well. It will be on display in the gallery, which is accessed from the parking lot entrance to the Androscoggin Bank on Main Street, through Aug. 28.

Dubay is a Maine artist who enjoys painting Maine subjects ranging from animals, both wild and domestic, to the traditional coastal, floral and landscape scenes.

She often paints on location and works in several media including oils, watercolor, pen and ink and colored pencils, sometimes combining them in one piece.

She does commissions and teaches adult education classes at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, offering her students a variety of techniques in oil painting.

Primarily a self-taught artist, she has won many awards in her 35 years of painting including 12 best of shows. For two years her work was juried into an international exhibits exchange of the sister cities of Farmington, Maine, Lac Megantic, Canada, and Douran, France.

She created the poster for the Common Ground Country Fair in 2001 and the original is included in the exhibit.

One of her pieces of artwork has been selected for inclusion in the New England Watercolor Society for 2001-02 which was open to entries for all of North America.

The exhibit is open to the public during regular banking hours.
