OXFORD — One streak ended and another continued at Oxford Plains Speedway Wednesday night as the Big Apple Summer Racing Series moved into high gear before a large crowd at the Oxford track.

Ed Prevost claimed his third Sport Truck win of the season and someone was finally able to cross the finish line in front of Stephanie Bowie.

Bowie also had a scare in the last Outlaw race of the evening as her P38 car rolled in turn one and landed on its roof. Bowie walked away from the wreck.

The top two finishers in the Sport Truck feature mirrored the point standings heading into the event. Prevost fought his way to the front, taking the lead from Zach Robitaille on Lap 14 to keep Victory Lane all to himself so far this season.

Robitaille had led the race from the green flag and lost it only once on Lap 10 to Doug Cutler.

Once Prevost was in front, it was all over. Sullivan ended up in second, with Cutler third. Robitaille finished fourth.

Jodee Constantino broke Bowie’s stranglehold on the Ladies’ Division and it was only fitting she had to square off against the two-time winner to do it.

Bowie, having won both races this season and leading both the Ladies and Outlaw Divisions in points heading into the evening, managed to get in the thick of things late in the feature and was in the front row with Constantino on the Lap 11 restart.

The pair went neck and neck around the oval but Constantino never relinquished the lead. Constantino had taken the lead from Tina Springer after a restart on Lap seven. Springer ended up fifth. Tina Follett, who had followed Bowie to the front took second in the race with Bowie third.

Greg Norton, Ben Krauter, Sheldon Stanley, and Adam Polvinen took the checkered flag in the four Outlaw Features.

Krauter, of Raymond, took the lead on Lap six of his caution-filled feature and the red Honda made it look easy.

Krauter had worked his way among the leaders and by Lap seven was right behind leader Jim May. The No. 82 Honda took the lead on one of four restarts in the 20-Lap event.

May finished second and Kyle Kilgore was third.

For Stanley, his Feature win was dominating….once Jim Hart was out of the way of course. Hart dominated the early laps and by Lap 12 Stanley was in hot pursuit when Hart had a tire go down and was no longer a factor.

Stanley slipped into the lead and was never challenged.

Mike Ward was second, and Ian Roberts third.

Greg Norton took the lead from Zach Audet on Lap four and never looked back winning his second race of the season. Audet didn’t let him get away with it easily as he stayed and finished in second with the exception of one lap.

Gary Chaisson slipped past Curtis Fanjoy on the final stretch to claim third.

Polvinen bided his time spending most of his time in second, behind Scott Farrington and in front of Corey Beaulieu. For much of the middle part of the race, the three ran bumper-to-bumper around the 3/8th mile track.

Farrington faltered, however, and Polvinen took the lead on Lap 18.Beaulieu finished second, with Farrington third.

Matt Dufault, Glenn Henderson, Jason Gadboury, and Bob Washburn all posted wins in the Outlaw races.

Washburn took the checkered flag in the most eventful Outlaw race of the evening.

Three different drivers held the lead in the 20 laps with Washburn at the top of the list. Bruce Robertson held the point early but Washburn moved in front by Lap three.

Jim Davis, number two in the Outlaw points standing going in, managed to take one lap away from Washburn. Davis finished second with Zach Hatch third.

Dufault took all the suspense out of his feature win with a wire-to-wire performance in the No. 106 car.

Hot on his tail throughout was Skip Douglass, Jr. who found himself in second place in all but one lap. Douglass finished in that spot as well.

In Henderson’s win, it was another start-to-finish win with the No. 57 car winning with a comfortable margin.

In this case it was everything that went on behind him that made it a race.

Scott Buffington, Randy Robitaille, and Richard Spaulding all battled to place in the top five.

Richard Spaulding moved up in the late laps to take second

Robitaille had second for the first half of the feature but fell off the pace. He regained enough to finish fourth.

Gadboury and Jamie Heath owned the last half of their feature. Heath took the lead on Lap nine and held it for four laps when Gadboury took over.

The pair ran away with it from there as the rest of the field battled behind.

Heath made it a battle but could not catch Gadboury and finished second.Gerard Cote was third and Jamie Henderson was fourth.
