1907 – 2003

LEWISTON – Ida B. Ayotte, 96, formerly of 17 Stewart St., Lewiston, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past 16 months. Born in Auburn on Jan. 23, 1907, she was the daughter of Joseph and Delima Landry Gagnon.

On Sept. 24, 1928, she was married to William J. Ayotte in Ss. Peter and Paul Church. He passed away in September of 1956. A member of Holy Family Parish, she also belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne, and enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing cards with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Henry and wife Joanne of Boca Raton, Fla., and Robert and wife Jeannine of Sabattus; two daughters, Jacqueline and husband Robert Morin of Sabattus, and Jeannine and husband Normand Berube of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren, Robert and wife Jody Morin Jr., Ronald and wife Annette Morin, Donald and wife Denise Morin, Dorothy and husband Bert Gosselin, Louise and husband Chris Matthews, Linda and husband Frank Curtis, Claire and husband Tim Barclay, Diane and husband Pete Allen, Henri and wife Robinn Berube, Patricia and husband Pete Taveira, Michael and wife Charlene Ayotte, Thomas and wife Eileen Ayotte, Ann and husband Randy Maxwell, William and wife Alex Ayotte, and Lydia Ayotte; 22 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Romeo, Henri, and Alphonse Gagnon; two sons, Roger and William Ayotte; and two grandchildren, Richard Berube and Matthew Ayotte.
