1955 – 2003

LEWISTON – Mark Steven Kahl passed on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a month-long contest with pneumonia and kidney disease. Born and raised in New York City, he moved to Wiscasset in 1970. He graduated from Wiscasset High School and was a carpenter, draftsmen and builder for 30 years. He was the “beat” behind the Maine-based music band Crossfire in the 1970s. His favorites were Eric Clapton and James Taylor.

Injured in 1999, he devoted his life to family and friends.

He leaves his mom, Dorothy Mary Kahl, friend David Furbish, both of Wiscasset, nana Marilyn Kahl in Connecticut and his close friends and L/A “brothers” John, Gregg, Michael, Matt, Lennie, Charles … many more … and, of course, his love, Brenda.

We will miss him always and for anyone who really knew him, they indeed loved him. He was a great man who helped whenever he could and then some. We love you big guy, peace, our brother…
