AUBURN – Kendra Biddle was named the second annual recipient of the Larry Marczak Memorial Scholarship at Edward Little High School. The award was announced by Principal James Miller.

Biddle was presented a $1,000 check by Virginia Marczak, scholarship board chairwoman. Biddle, a graduate of the class of 2003 at Edward Little, will attend Syracuse University this fall.

Biddle was chosen from applicants who were asked to provide a list of activities and achievements as well as recommendation letters. Applicants were also asked to write an essay explaining how they had made a difference in someone’s life or in the community during their high school years.

Marczak was a science teacher in the Auburn school system for more than 30 years. The scholarship was established to honor Marczak’s commitment to education, service to one’s community and higher education. The scholarship board consists of teachers who worked with Marczak as well as members of the Marczak family.

Applicants should be graduating seniors from Edward Little pursuing a post-secondary degree. The scholarship in intended to be given annually and is supported by private donations.
